In the first semester, students worked on learning how to build models with 3D software (TinkerCAD), created scientific drawings, and wrote about how they worked through the Engineering Design Process to create a successful 3D model that solves a problem. Students learned about the earth’s rotation and positions of the sun in the sky. Then they explored ways to use the sun to tell time and designed sun dial prototypes.
In the second semester, students studied gravity and motion. They explored parachutes and tested different materials before designing their own parachutes and completing an egg drop! They also worked collaboratively to research and design marble runs! Currently, they are working on independent projects, researching and developing STEAM projects to lead and create with their kindergarten and first grade buddies!

Earlier in the year students applied what they learned about Newton's laws, motion, momentum, and potential and kinetic energy, to create Newton's Cradles! They utilized the Engineering Design Process to work together to create a successful Newton's Cradle.
Students worked on identifying a real-world problem and developing innovative solutions, while working through the design process.
Students learned about the human body, vital organs and systems in the body, constructing and exploring, working through the Engineering Design Process along the way!
